God is creative
We bought a Saturn in 1993 and have loved driving it. It is 15 years old so a few months ago we began praying for a new vehicle. Last month my husband was in an accident (not his fault and not injured except for a sore nose from the air bag that deployed). The insurance company declared our Saturn a complete loss (which isn't hard with a car that old). We were given more than twice what we would have gotten if we tried to sell the car. Then we learned that my husband was going to be paid for the intership he has been doing for the past 8 months. They have only one person that they pay each year and that person had left for a full time job. So we now had a part-time income and an insurance check to go out and buy a new car. We have not bought a car since we were both working before the kids were born--almost 9 years ago. You just never know how God is going to answer prayer or take care of needs. Love that Lord of mine!

Are you sure your husband didn't plan that accident? Hmmm. Sounds suspicious to me. After all, he does have a tattoo. He's capable of anything.
(Yea God! What car are you going to buy? More importantly, will it have snow tires?)
Thanks for your comment on my blog about my husband Kennedy when he was sick. He is doing great now, back to normal. We still have no idea what it was! We are from California, too. :)

Your post reminds me of one of our many God stories.
I can't even remember how old our car was. It was old, like 12- 15 years old. We always drive them until they die. One day I was driving and a car pulled out in front of me, totaling my old car. I had a case of whiplash so I had to start treatments. My insurance paid for all the medical bills and then the other insurance company paid them as well. It's the way they do things. I tried to tell them they were overpaying and they said, "this is what you pay for."
We didn't know how we were going to buy another car. We had NO funds. I think we might have had $7.00 in our account. My husband's business had closed down so we had debt from that. We were just "making it". Our church group knew how bad business had been, but knew nothing of how little we had.
The Sunday after the wreck, I'm struggling with whiplash and my kids start a stomach virus. I am so frustrated with God at this point... Isn't the whiplash and lack of a car enough? Well He had something planned. Our church had decided to take up an offering for us. It would have been hard to sit through that.
With the money they contributed, the money we got for our car and the whiplash...we were able to buy a good used car. We were stunned, just stunned.
We had absolutely nothing to buy a car with...God had it all taken care of.
And that insurance check that we got for the whiplash...well it paid off my husband's business debt. It was an amazing time for us.
Thanks for reminding me.
Julie
